Mysterious white powder discoveredThe Kalispell Fire Department responded to Kalispell Regional Medical Center after a small amount of white powder was found on top of a shrink-wrapped pallet. The powder was later determined to be silica - most commonly found in nature in sand or quartz - and inert enough for the hospital employees to clean up by themselves. The fire department cleared the scene in about two hours.

"We were just here to support the hospital," said assistant chief DC Haas.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded Third Avenue West where a 50-year-old woman may have taken the wrong medication. She was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a one-car accident on Windward Way. The man, who was found unconscious but breathing in a vehicle reported stolen out of Washington state, was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

They also responded to an accident on U.S. 93 near Flathead Valley Community College. One person was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center and a second person refused medical transport.

The Blankenship Fire Department responded to Lake Drive where a home filled up with smoke after snow blocked the chimney. There was no structure fire.
