The Kalispell Fire Department responded to what was reported as an explosion on Third Avenue West. Authorities determined a squirrel may have gotten too near an electricity transformer.

They also responded to Second Avenue West after somebody smelled the odor of natural gas.

The ALERT helicopter paged out to a snowmobile accident near Lake Como Dam was canceled mid-flight.

But it did respond to Big Mountain where a 17-year-old girl suffered a head injury. The girl, who was lapsing in and out of consciousness, was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Kalispell Fire Department and Evergreen Fire Department responded to the intersection of West Reserve Drive and Whitefish Stage Road. A black Chevrolet pickup truck traveling southbound on Whitefish Stage Road ran a red light T-boned a Toyota SUV traveling eastbound, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. The driver of the SUV was not injured. The elderly driver of the pickup truck, who may have been having health problems, was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
