James 'Jim' Jeffries, 68

James "Jim" Jeffries, 68, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at his residence in Kalispell. He was born on July 14, 1939, in Olympia, Wash., to the late Jack and Helen (Carlson) Jeffries.

Jim attended school in Sonoma, Calif., where he joined and served in the Navy from 1956 to 1960. He served aboard the USS Princeton LPH-5.

Jim married Carol Ridgway in 1971 in Helena. He lived and worked as a loader operator at various jobs in the timber industry, in and around the Flathead Valley. In 2001, Jim had to retire due to medical reasons.

Jim is survived by his wife, Carol Jeffries, of Kalispell; three sons, Jim Jeffries Jr. of Shelby, Jody Jeffries and wife Paula of Portsmouth, Va., and Jeremy Jeffries and wife Garnet of Kalispell; five daughters, Julie Flintoff and husband Eric of Tacoma, Wash., Jolene Flintoff of Tacoma, Wash., Kelly Jeffries of Billings, Allison Jeffries and Theresa Jeffries, both of Kalispell; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Gerry Cleaver of Port Ludlow, Wash., and Jan Wetzsteon of Paulsboro, Wash.; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Memorial services for Jim will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Clint Theline of Faith Baptist Church officiating. A celebration of his life will follow the funeral at the Eagles in Kalispell.
