Bernice Olive Waller Bestul, 74

Bernice Olive Waller Bestul, 74, died Feb. 19, 2008, at The Heritage Place in Kalispell after a long battle with emphysema.

She was born Dec. 12, 1933, in Shepherd to George and Minnie Waller. She moved to Kila with her parents and four brothers, Kenneth, Marvin "Corky," Richard, and Gerald "Jerry," and her sister, Loretta, in 1950.

She graduated from Flathead County High School and married Harris Eveland. They had one child together, Kathy Hawbaker. She moved to Seattle, where she was a stay-at-home mom.

In 1961, she remarried Glen Bestul. They had one child together, Glen Jr., who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Ken and Marvin; and her sister, Loretta.

She had many different jobs, but mainly worked in dry cleaner and office manager positions.

She moved back to Kila in 1982, where she had since resided.

She is survived by her husband, Glen, and her daughter, Kathy Hawbaker, both of Kila; brother, Richard, and Donna Waller, of Seattle; brother-in-law, Gerald Grove, of Seattle; brother, Jerry, and Debi Waller, of Dillon; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She loved the outdoors, hunting, picking berries and camping. She also loved to quilt and crochet.

Bernice was a wonderful and loving mother. She had many friends and will be greatly missed by everyone. She held her children close to her heart.

Memorial services will be held at a later date to allow time for her family and friends to come to Kalispell.
