Glacier splits duals

Glacier's wrestling season ended on a good note - a victory.

The Wolfpack dropped a wild 42-39 dual with Helena High, but rebounded later in the evening Saturday to dump Helena Capital 48-33. Both matches were at Glacier.

"This is a great way to finish up the year," Glacier coach Mark Fischer said. "We're coming into the seeding tournament (Feb. 1-2 in Helena) in a positive (way). We're peaking at the right time."

Helena had six pins to Glacier's four, which proved to be the difference. Glacier led that match 39-36 heading into the final weight class - 285. Toby Erickson got a pin and the Bengals prevailed.

Stormy Day (125), Tanner Woodland (145), Clayton Hamilton (152) and John Frandsen (215) collected falls for Glacier.

Glacier used six pins to down Capital, which had one. Getting falls for the Wolfpack were Sam Overton (112), Jordan Nelson (130), Brayden Bagley (135), Lucas Cummings (140), Boyce Ballard (189) and Joel Horn (285).
