Frederick 'Fred' R. Yaeck, 94

| July 2, 2008 1:00 AM

Frederick "Fred" R. Yaeck, 94, our beloved dad and grandpa, left us on Friday, June 27, 2008, at Heritage Place in Kalispell. Fred was born May 5, 1914, in Dixon, to Reinhold and Fredrica Yaeck. As a young boy he and his family moved to Rudyard, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1932.

On Sept. 17, 1952, he married Margaret "Peg" Hamilton and together they raised three daughters in Kalispell. Fred and Peg shared 54 loving years together until Peg's passing in May 2006. They enjoyed traveling abroad in the British Isles, as well as the U.S. and Canada.

Fred's hobbies included bowling, fishing and reading.

Fred belonged to the First Presbyterian Church and the Eagles Club. Fred worked for the City of Kalispell Water Department for many years before retiring in 1981.

Fred was a kind and loving man and loved a good joke.

He had been a resident of Heritage Place since October 2006.

"We will miss you dearly and you will forever live in our hearts. There is comfort knowing you and Mom are together again. Thank you both for the beautiful memories. We love you!"

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Karl; wife, Peg; and an infant granddaughter.

Fred is survived by his daughters, Jean Sonju of Libby, Helen and Lee Mullen of Veradale, Wash., and Mary and Harold Malloy of Kalispell; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 2, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with Rev. Glenn Burfeind officiating. Burial will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 2802, Great Falls, MT 59403; or to the American Heart Association, 510 First Ave. N., Room 114, Great Falls, MT 59401.
