Helen E. Hay, 82

Helen E. Hay, 82, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Helen was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Saskatchewan to August and Agatha Thiel. Helen was raised and attended schools in Bruno, Saskatchewan. She attended college, where she received her Registered Nursing degree. Helen married Glen R. Hay on Nov. 15, 1951, in Estevan, Saskatchewan.

She truly enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for her husband and her four children was endless. Helen enjoyed bowling and traveling.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clemens and Ted Thiel; one sister, Dorothy; and a granddaughter, AdriAnn Walcker.

Helen is survived by her husband of 56 years, Glen; children, Pat and husband, Jim Walcker, Robert and wife, Carol Hay, Donna and husband, Chuck Pummill, Ardis and husband, Mike Stewart; sister, Alma Thiel; brother, Ralph Thiel; grandchildren, John and Allison Walcker, Clinton and wife, Heather Hay, Jamie Hay, Gena and Lonnie Stevens, Adam and Nikki Pummill, and Whitney Hay; great-grandchildren, Jordan Kostek, Megan and Emma Hay, and Jaron Pummill.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today, July 6, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of Helen's life will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with Deacon Fred Topp of St. Matthew's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be after the service at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
