M's win streak at 21 games

MISSOULA - Mission Valley pushed its winning streak in Class A American Legion baseball play to 21 games Tuesday by sweeping the Missoula Mavericks in a doubleheader.
Mission Valley (12-0 in the Southern Division of Western A and 42-9 overall) rode a solid mound performance by Spencer Trawick and a 14-hit attack in the opener for a 10-6 win.
The Mariners came right back with 12 hits in the second game, led by Tim Rausch's 4-for-4 performance, for a 6-2 victory.
Trawick and Derrick Rathe, who pitched the seventh inning, combined on a five-hitter. Trawick fanned three batters.
Brandon Roy doubled in two runs for the Mariners in the fifth inning and singled in another in the seventh.
Rausch doubled and tripled in the second contest. John Rausch and Nick Fell also had triples and Beau Nordberg doubled.
The Mariners, who have won 29 of their last 31 games, are back in action Friday at the John R. Harp Tournament in Kalispell.
