Virginia B. Barranger, 87

Virginia B. Barranger, 87, died July 6, 2008, of natural causes at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 2048 Conn Road in Columbia Falls. Cremation has taken place.

'Ginny' was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Chicago, the daughter of Arthur and Francis Biser.

She graduated from Wilmette High School, in Wilmette, Ill., and then attended college in Wakesha, Wis.

She married Thomas L. Barranger in 1941 and worked as a homemaker.

Ginny loved her family and was very dedicated to her children and grandchildren.

She was truly devoted to the Episcopal Church of Whitefish and was a loving servant and member of the church since June 1959. She started the church choir at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church and spent years as the organist.

She was a Sunday school teacher, was active in the altar guild and was involved in many other aspects of the church. Her love of the Lord was apparent to all.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her son, Tom Barranger, and wife, Gail, of Bigfork; daughter, Lois Andersen, and husband, Richard, of Loveland, Colo.; son, Mark Barranger and fiancee, Haley, of Spokane; and son, Jay Barranger, and wife, Heather, of Whitefish; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Marian Fiske, of Mystic, Conn., and sister, Lois Williamson and husband, Bob, of Glenview, Ill.; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church in Ginny's name.
