Marion Irene (Paulson) Rose, 89, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Springmeadows in Bozeman. She was born to Martin and Hilda Paulson in Riverside on July 21, 1918. She was the youngest of four children. She moved, along with her family, to the Flathead Valley when she was 14 years old. They made their home in the Bigfork area.

She was married June 28, 1936, to Harry M. Rose. They lived in the Bigfork area until the spring of 1990, when they moved to Bozeman to be near Janet and Gil. Mom loved the Gallatin Valley with the mountains in the distance and the sunny days.

Mom was always a feisty, busy, productive person. She loved to garden, read, camp, fish, try new recipes, crochet and do crafts of all kinds. She painted wonderful oil paintings, which she shared with family and friends.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Harry (2001); son, Jim (1998); her parents; and two brothers.

She is survived by her sister, Helen McGuire, of Sequim, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law, Gil and Janet Passmore, of Bozeman; six grandchildren, Sharon and David Andersen of Houston, Janet Rose of Prineville, Ore., Susan and John Hatcher of Houston, John and Malonia Rose of Anchorage, Alaska, Blake and Kathleen Passmore of Kalispell, and Richard Passmore of Belgrade; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley and Martin Cohen, Ian Andersen, Brendan Passmore, Alex Krug, Nathan Andersen, Jaime Rose, Alyssa Passmore and Bhavani Passmore; and two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Micah Cohen. Also surviving are Jean Rose, Barb Sabo, and sister-in-law, Florence Paulson, of Bigfork; and several nieces and nephews.

She attended Grace Bible Church in Bozeman and so much appreciated Pastor Bryan's messages. We also want to thank Mac and Shirley Johnson for their visits, prayers and encouragement. It meant so much to her.

Her last year was spent as a resident of Springmeadows, where she received outstanding care. There are no words to express how grateful we are to those who cared for her with such kindness and love. We also want to thank Keven Comer and her staff and Hospice for all they have done in caring for her. The family appreciates it so very much.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 14, at Grace Bible Church in Bozeman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Grace Bible Church for the work of Tim and Emily Tanner, or a charity of the donor's choice. Burial will be at 10 a.m. July 21 at Fairview Cemetery in Columbia Falls. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service in Bozeman; www.dokkennelson.com.
