Phyllis Nelson, 79,
passed quietly in her sleep on July 19, 2008, in Evanston, Wyo., due to complications from lung cancer.
Phyllis Edith Price was born Nov. 13, 1928, in Eureka, to Tom and Alice Price. While Phyllis was growing up, the family lived in Eureka, Libby and Kalispell. She graduated from Eureka High School in 1946.
Phyllis married Walt Nelson on Dec. 21, 1963.
Phyllis was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She loved playing cards, bingo, and enjoyed the occasional trip to Wendover, Nev., with the Senior Circle Club.
She moved to Evanston in 2005.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Walt Nelson; and parents, Tom and Alice Price.
She is survived by her children, Lenny Nelson, and wife, Jackie, of Columbia Falls; daughter, Tanya Wiens, and husband, Randy, of Evanston; daughter, Vicky Nelson, and husband, Binks, of Fargo, N.D.; and son, Walt Nelson, and wife, Wendy, of Portland; brother Tom Price, and sister Claudia Higson, both of Eureka; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At her request, no funeral services will be held. A gathering of friends and family to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
