Marjorie 'Marj' Sanders was born May 31, 1931, to Adolph and Anna Pederson of Creston and 'entered her eternal rest' July 21, 2008. Marj was blessed to live her entire life in the Flathead Valley, attending the Creston grade school and Flathead County High School.

Marj met Robert 'Bob' Sanders following World War II, and they were married in Kalispell on April 16, 1950.

Bob and Marj owned and operated Sanders Implement Co. (John Deere dealership) from 1955 to 1968, and later owned Sanders' Western Specialty and Fashion Fabrics, from 1968 to 1976. Bob and Marj retired from farming in the Lower Valley area in 1995, where she had resided until her passing.

Marj's passions were sewing and teaching. She touched the lives of many people as an active 4-H leader for many years, and taught numerous sewing classes for clothing, upholstery and quilting at Flathead Valley Community College. Marj created many beautiful quilts. She was an active member of the Flathead Quilters Guild and was a charter member to develop and promote the annual quilt show. She loved to travel across the U.S. to attend quilt shows.

Marj is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and John Popa, of Great Falls; son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Barbara Sanders, of Spokane; and four grandchildren, Matt and Drew Popa, and Mark and Dan Sanders. She is also survived by her brother, Clyde Pederson, and wife, Jeanine; numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

Marj's family is celebrating her life with a small family memorial service. There will not be a public service. Cards can be sent to the family's home.
