Hazel Dial

Hazel Dial, former resident of Great Falls and Columbia Falls, passed away July 4, 2008, in Tucson, Ariz. She was born in Colin in 1925, to AA and Freda Delger. She moved with her family to Fort Shaw, where she lived until she graduated from high school.

During World War II, Hazel worked at Malmstrom Air Force Base, and it was during that time she met and married her husband of 50 years, Fred Dial. They had four daughters, Lynda and John Thomas of Kimberly, Ore., Beverly and Tom Dowling of Columbia Falls, Connie and the late Robert Trinastich of Tucson, and Sharon Dial of Tucson.

In 1975 they moved to the Flathead Valley, where they both retired. In 1995 Hazel lost her beloved husband, Fred. She then filled her time traveling and visiting her daughters.

Hazel was a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved fishing, hunting and camping with her husband and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and four sisters, and a son-in-law.

Hazel is survived by her four daughters, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
