Rudolph Rudy H. Hanson, 66, died May 26, 2008, at home in Renton, Wash. He was born in Whitefish on May 10, 1942, to Rudolph and Emma Hanson.
He moved to Seattle when he was 16, and started a very successful gas station for Shell Oil, later adding a parts store.
Rudy traveled quite extensively throughout the United States.
He married Carol Waldren in Seattle in 1965. They had a son, Chuck, and daughter, Carla. After their children were born they moved to Renton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his parents, Rudy and Emma; and three brothers, John, Vernon and Richard.
He is survived by his children, Chuck and Carla, in Renton; three brothers, Claude in California, Raymond in Kila, and James in Alaska; also three sisters, Florence DeLong in Somers, Eileen Bredstrand of Kalispell and Liz Wiggins Barstad of California; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the United Methodist Church, 117 Second St. W., in Columbia Falls. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
