Man uses cane to fend off robbers

A man had just gotten cash from the ATM at a Second Avenue East bank when two men came up to his car and demanded money. The driver was able to fend one man off with his cane and drive away, knocking the second man down. Kalispell police are investigating.

A laptop and a camera were reported stolen from a Second Avenue East North garage.

An intoxicated man knocked on the door of a North Main Street residence and asked to use the phone, after which he headed towards Lawrence Park and the homeowners called police.

A dog was observed chasing people on Rockefeller Drive.

Officers warned a man and his 19-year-old child riding a four-wheeler on Sherry Lane that the machines are not allowed in city parks.

Officers arrested a man, who had been drinking, with an outstanding warrant after he stood outside his wife's home with a long kitchen knife, possibly to slash her tires.

Someone threw a rock through the window of a Meridian Court home, got inside, and then made off with a computer.

A camera and a gun were stolen from a pickup truck on Third Avenue East.

A North Belmar Drive man told officers her ex-girlfriend showed up, assaulted him and then threatened to harm herself. She was gone when officers arrived.

About $600 was stolen from a dresser at a Cooper Lane residence.

An Ashley Drive woman called officers to report a civil process server who refused to leave her front door.

Officers received 56 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday.
