Marquardt, Dezort fail to post scores in second go at CNFR

CASPER, Wyo. - It was a rough second go for Chad Marquart and Neil Dezort at the 60th annual College National Finals Rodeo.

The two bareback riders from Kalispell failed to post scores during Tuesday night's performance.

Marquardt, a sophomore at Montana Western, was bucked off while Dezort did not ride. Dezort came into the competition with a shoulder injury.

Kaycee L. Field of Utah Valley State College led Tuesday's bareback session with an 81. Twenty-four cowboys posted scores, while 13 were bucked off.

The last round before finals in the bareback is Thursday.

The rodeo ends Saturday.

Marquardt started the competition Sunday tied for 15th place with a 72.5 score.

Dezort was one of nine riders not posting a score on opening day.

Tiden M. Hooper of Panola Junior College had the top ride, 83.5, followed by Steven R. Peebles of Walla Walla Community College, 80.
