A 29-year-old Wisconsin man was killed Thursday evening in a crash at the intersection of U.S. 93 and Montana 82.
The man, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the man was attempting to turn left out of the White Oak C-Mart to go north on U.S. 93 just after 5 p.m. when an Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight, traveling southbound in the left lane of U.S. 93, ran a red light and struck his Ford Contour broadside.
The man's passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was taken via ambulance to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, said Highway Patrol trooper Glen Barcus.
The 83-year-old driver of the Oldsmobile, who also suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center by the ALERT helicopter.
Neither occupant of the Ford Contour was wearing a seat belt. Excessive speed did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Charges against the driver of the Oldsmobile will be recommended to the Flathead County Attorney's Office, Barcus said.
