Mariners take 2 from Kootenai

EUREKA - Tim Rausch homered in the first and sixth innings and three Mission Valley pitchers - Josh Reed, Kyle Bagnell and Derrick Rathe - combined on a no-hitter as the Mariners crushed Kootenai Valley 14-4 in the second game of a Class A American Legion baseball doubleheader Thursday.

Mission Valley won the opener 10-4. Both games were nonconference.

Rausch has five home runs on the season.

Mission Valley (30-8) hosts Salmon, Idaho, on Saturday.
