Perry Lee Collins, 71

Perry Lee Collins, 71, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He had battled coronary artery disease for 30 years but died from a yet-to-be-determined disease. He was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Seeley, Calif., to Andrew and Blanche (Hunga) Collins.

He attended high school in Imperial, Calif., and attended Arizona State University. His career was as a supervisor and manager for UPS and several freight lines in Southern California.

Perry retired to the Kalispell area, where he married his second wife, Sandra. Together they enjoyed hiking, fishing, gardening and playing with their beagles, Dusty and Heidi.

Perry was a radio-controlled model-airplane enthusiast and flew his planes in Montana with the Glacier RC'ers, and in Brenda, Ariz., where they spent their winters among their many friends, including Perry's best friend, Marvin.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara; and his beloved daughter, Jewelene.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Collins, of Kalispell; her daughter, Linda Flickinger, and grandchildren, Brian and Shyanne, all of Whitefish; his first wife, Reba; his two sons, Andrew Collins and wife, Lisa, and grandchildren, Zachary, Presli, Baxter and Baylie, all of Brea, Calif., and son, Walter Collins, of Yorba Linda, Calif.; and also one sister, Beverly Leslie, of Barstow, Calif.

Memorial services for Perry Collins will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, in the Johnson Mortuary chapel, with Pastor Darold Reiner officiating.
