Theora L. 'Teddy' Granmo, 71

Theora L. "Teddy" Granmo, 71, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at her home in Kalispell. She was born Dec. 6, 1936, in Kalispell, the daughter of John and Jen (Siderius) Paola.

She attended schools in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead High School in 1955. On Aug. 7, 1955, she married Lauren Granmo in Kalispell. From 1968 until 1970, she was the manager of the Flathead Valley Community College Bookstore. In 1972, she and Lauren purchased the Gift and China Shop in Kalispell, and they operated that until 1984. She also worked part-time as a nurse's aide throughout the 1980s. She was a very active member of the Republican Women's Organization.

She was a very avid gardener and loved to travel, and she and Lauren took many cruises.

Teddy was a very loving woman, and she didn't beat around the bush in telling you how she felt about a subject. She could be tough and yet was very down to earth. You knew how you stood with her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lauren, in Oct. 2007, and her parents.

She is survived by her son, John Granmo, of Kent, Wash.; her granddaughter, Tyfanie Granmo, of Bozeman; a sister, Shirley Schmidt and husband, Mark, of Whitefish; and a niece, Cindy Granmo.

Funeral services for Teddy will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, in the Johnson Mortuary chapel, with Pastor Glenn Burfeind officiating. Burial will be afterward at Glacier Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
