Store closed but doors remain open

A customer shopping at an Evergreen convenience store plunked some beer down on the counter. Several minutes later, the customer realized the store was closed. Leaving the beer on the counter, the customer departed. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies determined an employee had forgotten to lock the doors.

Mail was reported stolen on Somers Stage Road.

Someone at a Montana 206 residence was reported first for refusing to leave the home and then again for trying to drive away drunk.

Deputies helped a Eureka resident recover stolen property from a suspect staying at a motel on Montana 35 in Evergreen.

Someone out walking their dog on Patrick Creek Road discovered a bone and, thinking it was human, contacted deputies. Authorities determined it belonged to an animal.

Investigators were told a Kokanee Bend resident had kept a horse cooped up in a trailer for a week.

Deputies counseled an out-of -control 11-year-old Eckelberry Drive boy who allegedly tried to break the fridge. The boy later took off on his bicycle.

Two reportedly intoxicated people got into a fight on Mountain Drive in Hungry Horse. No weapons were involved and neither party was arrested.

Deputies determined that reports of a car driving recklessly through the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on U.S. 2 in Evergreen were unfounded, as were reports - made minutes later - that a man at the same location kicked open a van door.

An injured moose was spotted on U.S. 2.

A woman reportedly pulled up next to a school bus driver in Olney and started yelling at him.

Arrows were shot into a West Reserve Drive log pile.

The gate to a storage area behind a gas station on U.S. 2 in Evergreen was broken into.

Someone is accused of leaving suspicious notes on their former colleagues' MySpace accounts.

People were spotted climbing on top of a mausoleum at a Conrad Drive cemetery.

Deputies arrested a 55-year-old Lupfer Road man on suspicion of aggravated assault after he allegedly tried to run his neighbor over with a tractor.

Kalispell police responded to a convenience store on West Idaho Street after receiving reports of a man sitting in his car and harassing women. The suspect bolted when officers approached, but authorities arrested the 29-year-old man for obstructing officers and resisting arrest after chasing him through several yards and over several fences.

Officers warned a man with a black leather jacket and a shaved head to stop urinating into the shrubs on Hawthorne Avenue.

A First Avenue East business' mailbox was vandalized two weeks in a row.

Officers arrested a 20-year-old man for trespass to vehicle and attempted theft after he was spotted trying to break into a vehicle outside a beauty school on first Street West.

A man hung up with his daughter and called police after hearing another man yelling in the background. Police responded to the woman's Hawthorne Avenue residence and separated the arguing couple.

An intoxicated man beginning to get disorderly in a grocery store on Second Avenue West was sent on his way.

A 2-year-old child found wandering down the street was returned to its Fifth Avenue West home and waiting mother.

Officers were unable to locate three teenagers throwing a football back and forth across U.S. 93.

Fearing domestic abuse, an Appleway Drive resident called police after hearing yelling and slamming coming from a neighboring apartment. Turns out the suspected abuse was just the couple yelling loudly at a movie.

A pickup truck was shot on Sixth Avenue West North.

Two women, one of whom had been drinking, got into a fight on 11th Avenue West. The instigator left, returned, spoke with the police, and then took off for the evening.

Officers served a 38-year-old inmate at the Flathead County Detention Center with a warrant for violating an order of protection.

A woman either fell or jumped out of a car during and argument with a man in the Woodland Park parking lot. She apparently was the one driving. When officers located the couple, a pit bull wouldn't let the tow truck driver get close enough to impound the car. So the dog was also impounded - at the county animal shelter.

Whitefish police arrested a 33-year-old man for driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop on Baker Avenue.

A gunshot, or something that sounded like it, was heard on Wisconsin Avenue.

Someone was allegedly assaulted by two men on Edgewood Place.

A 38-year-old woman and 42-year-old man were each arrested for making nasty and threatening phone calls to each other, an alleged violation of the privacy in communication statute.

Columbia Falls police arrested a 48-year-old man for driving under the influence of alcohol and drug possession following a traffic stop on First Street West.

A 21-year-old Fourth Avenue West man was arrested for partner assault after allegedly getting physical with his girlfriend.

Police served a 33-year-old 13th Street West man with a Yellowstone County warrant for failure to register as a sexual or violent offender.

Cash was reported stolen from a business on U.S. 2.

Alarms

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to 13th Street West after a resident reported an odor that smelled strongly of gas. Turns out a neighbor was using lighter fluid to start their barbecue.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to an accident near the intersection of Fourth Avenue East and Ninth Street. Two people were taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The Kalispell Fire Department also responded to the intersection of Third Avenue West and Second Street, where a woman crossing the street was hit by a car. She was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Finally, the Kalispell Fire Department responded to an alley off Eighth Avenue West where a car caught on fire. The blaze may have been caused by crossing the jumper cables.

The South Kalispell Fire Department responded to a chimney fire on Zimmerman Road.
