MSU's Rudy repeats as NCAA pole vault champ

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Montana State University's Ellie Rudy defended her women's pole vault title on Saturday at the NCAA Indoor track and field championships.

Rudy, a junior, cleared 14-1 1/4 to finish first. That was also her winning height a year ago.

Rudy, from Woodland Park, Colo., won the Big Sky Conference championship by clearing 14-1 1/4.

MSU's Dan Johnson, a senior from Livingston, finished 12th on Friday in the prelims of the 400-meter dash. His time was 47.44. He did not make the finals.
