Sherry Lee (Combs) Jones, 63

Sherry Lee (Combs) Jones, 63, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 11, 2008, after a short battle with a stroke and stomach cancer.

"Mom" was born on April 13, 1944, in Hot Springs, to Cecil E. and Fredricka E. Combs. She was the oldest of seven children. She was married to Mervin McQueen in 1963, and they had four boys, Cecil, Michael, Kevin and Chris. They divorced in 1969. She met and married George Jones in 1973 and they had two children, Candy and Craig Jones.

Mom was known to many of us as "Big Momma." She was an excellent mother, sister, aunt and grandma, too. Mom loved the outdoors, "storm chasing," camping, running her G.A. meetings and meeting new people.

Mom was preceded in death by an infant brother, Douglas; her parents, Cecil E. and Fredricka E. Combs; a sister, Darlene Walter; a nephew, Douglas Walter; her ex-husband, Mervin McQueen; an ex-brother-in-law, John Holyoak; and her husband, George Jones, whom she was widowed by in 1991.

Mom is survived by her children, Candy and Craig, of Kalispell, Mike of Colorado, and Chris of Texas; her sisters, Cecelia Stap of Marion, Carleen Hutchson and Faye Kerzman of Kalispell, and Diane Bowersox of Washington. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Nicole, Caitlyn, Ashley and Abby, all of Kalispell; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

"Mom, you may be gone, but you'll never be forgotten!"

No visitation. Cremation has already taken place. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Fairview Cemetery.
