Hazel Scott Littlefield, 85

Hazel Scott Littlefield, 85, of Billings, formerly of Roundup, died March 12, 2008, in Billings.

Hazel was born on July 30, 1922, in Cincinnati, Iowa, to William and Josephine Scott. The family moved to Roundup in the 1930s because Hazel's father was a coal miner.

In 1940, Hazel was married to William Highbarger in Lancaster, Mo. To this union her only son, William E. Highbarger was born. Hazel and William later divorced.

Throughout her life, Hazel worked at various restaurants as a cook and waitress, including the Glacier Hotel in Cut Bank, Arrow Drive Inn in Kalispell, Windmill Cafe in Havre, and the Busy Bee Cafe in Roundup. She was a dedicated and hard worker. Hazel loved to raise animals and enjoyed crafts.

She is survived by her son, William E. (Karen) Highbarger; granddaughter, Vicki Francis, of Kalispell, two nephews, and a niece. She was preceded in death by her father, William Scott; mother, Josephine Scott; brothers, Beal Scott and Donald Scott; and sister, Beulah Rice.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held in Roundup at a later date. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary in Billings is in charge of arrangements and condolences may be left for the family at www.michelottisawyers.com
