Boy rescued after canoe capsizes

A man and a 10-year-old boy canoeing on the Flathead River near Lybecks Dike capsized Wednesday evening. The boy made it to the bank himself, but it was the bank opposite authorities. Rescue personnel from the Evergreen Fire Department crossed the river and fetched him back before the search and rescue team even arrived. No one was injured.

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded to Ekalaka Drive where a man and his 17-year-old daughter were arguing loudly over her lost cell phone privileges.

Animal wardens responded to Trumble Creek Road after a resident found a stray cat they think was abused. The cat was taken to the county animal shelter.

A woman told deputies her guitar was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at Lone Pine State Park, a year ago. She only recently found paperwork proving her ownership of the instrument, thus the delay.

A dog was shot on Montana 209 in Lake County.

A transient, described as a "crazy man," pitched his tent next to a business on U.S. 2 in Evergreen, prompting an unwanted person report. The transient was gone when deputies arrived.

Deputies were unable to locate a truck reportedly going onto state land near Pioneer Road to mud bog.

Two men were seen fighting outside a grocery store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. The conflict reportedly was about a woman. Both men suffered minor injuries, but neither was arrested.

A suspicious person sitting under a street sign near a convenience store on U.S. 93 south of Whitefish was a transient.

A person suspected of taking medication from a Conrad Drive resident confronted her accuser about the allegations. When the suspect left, the resident reported more medication missing.

Mail, some with checks inside, was reported stolen from an East Edgewood Drive residence. What's more, somebody is writing checks against the theft victims account.

An apparently disoriented elderly woman with two green grocery bags at the intersection of U.S. 93 and Kelly Road was gone when deputies arrived.

A Fourth Avenue East resident called police about removing an unwanted person from his home, but when officers arrived the caller was no longer there.

The Creston Fire Department responded to what turned out to be a controlled burn on Foothill Road.

The Somers Fire Department extinguished a small fire in the bathroom of a Maxine Drive home.

Whitefish Ambulance responded to a rollover on Trumble Creek Road. The car's occupant, who reportedly was trying to hide in a field and acting generally strange when authorities arrived, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.

The Kalispell Fire Department and Creston Fire Department responded to a rollover on Montana 35 near that highway's intersection with Montana 206. One person was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Three Rivers EMS responded to Meadow Lake Drive after somebody fell off a roof. The patient was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with chest and back pain.

Big Mountain Ambulance took an 11-year-old child with a neck injury to North Valley Hospital after an accident on Big Mountain.

The Evergreen Fire Department rescued a cat from a tree on Ridgewood Drive.
