Eleanor I. Thorson, 96,

died at Kalispell Regional Medical Center on Friday, March 21, 2008. Eleanor was born in Vining, Minn., to Norwegian immigrant parents, Iver and Anne Wiek, on Sept. 14, 1911.

Eleanor married Mason S. Wilmers on Aug. 3, 1940, in Minneapolis. Mason preceded her in death on March 14, 1955.

She later married Arthur Thorson on July 20, 1974, in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Eleanor spent her career working for the Veterans Administration, both in Arlington, Va., and Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur; and two brothers, Joel and Orlean.

Survivors include two sisters, Beatrice Gallison of Philadelphia, and Ellen Boiteau of Bigfork; stepson, Ronald Thorson, of Pequot Lake, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
