Arthur William Schwegel, 81

Arthur William Schwegel, 81, of Columbia Falls passed away Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Montana Veterans Home. He was born March 22, 1927, to Mike and Tillie Schwegel in St. Joseph, Minn.

Art entered the Air Force in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1953.

He was married to Betty Gross on Sept. 10, 1952. They moved to the Whitefish area in 1956, where he worked in the timber industry.

Art is survived by his wife, Betty, of Columbia Falls; three children, Frank of Walden, Colo., Cathy and Roe Henson of Tubac, Ariz., and Susan and Don Armstrong of Ogden, Utah; four grandchildren, Sheila and Joe Colton of Hampton, Va., Nathan of Troy, Zane and Shannon Henson of Tubac, and Tanner Henson of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and a brother, Albert, of Whitefish.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the VFW Club in Whitefish.
