Flathead County sheriff

Flathead County sheriff's deputies got a tip that a woman who escaped from the Montana women's prison may be hiding out in an apartment complex on Montana 35 in Evergreen. She wasn't.

A purse was reported stolen from the baseball fields on Woodland Park Drive.

Water was spotted running underneath the door of an outbuilding at the baseball fields on Whitefish Stage Road. The spigot was shut off.

A man with a disability found passed out on Cemetery Road wasn't injured. He was given a ride home.

Deputies responded to a youth home on Panoramic Drive, where a 13-year-old boy was threatening other residents and staff members.

What was reported as a family disturbance on East Edgewood Drive turned out to be people shooting gophers. The reporting party called deputies after hearing a gunshot and/or an "explosion."

A Mennonite Church Road man, reportedly having a panic attack, refused medical treatment from paramedics and told deputies he would have a friend take him to the hospital.

Deputies responded to Rocky Cliff Drive after a resident reported that someone was trying to break into the west side of the house. The complaint turned out to be unfounded.

A woman was accused of harassing a Trumbull Canyon Road man who she alleges is holding onto some of her property.

Deputies separated a 36-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman who were fighting on Woodland Road.

A garden hose was reported stolen on Montana 35.

A Good Country Road resident slammed the door in a process server's face, then opened it and threatened to get his shotgun. The process server left after hearing the resident rack a shell into the gun.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police responded to a grocery store on West Idaho Street after receiving reports of a man, who had been drinking, looking into car windows. Half an hour later, the man called dispatchers, shouting obscenities that someone had the gall to complain about his behavior and get the police involved. He hung up when dispatchers told him the call was being recorded.

Wallets were stolen from cars at a post office on First Avenue West, a purse from a car on Third Avenue East, a camera from a car on East Center Street, and a pair of sunglasses from a car on Eighth Avenue East.

Officers arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of felony criminal mischief after he allegedly destroyed a motel room at an establishment on East Idaho Street.

Two men in a truck ran over some garbage cans on Sixth Avenue East.

Officers counseled two women making out in a park near Harrison Boulevard. The pair reportedly flipped off a passer-by when she asked them to stop, thus prompting the call to law enforcement.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on West Idaho Street on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after he was observed leaning out his car window and puking.

About $180 and a vacuum were stolen from a Liberty Street residence.

Officers ticketed two men on suspicion of violating the open-container ordinance after they were spotted drinking beer outside a Main Street furniture store.

Installed copper wire was stolen from a Ninth Avenue West construction site.

A large, rusty-brown rodent-type animal with a tail like a rat reportedly was living in a Northern Lights Boulevard culvert.

Whitefish police received 37 calls for service between 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police booked a 28-year-old man on an outstanding city warrant after he was arrested by the Montana Highway Patrol.

About 13 gallons of gas were stolen from a 10th Avenue West residence.

Officers received 22 calls for police service between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Alarms

The Columbia Falls Fire Department and Whitefish Ambulance responded to an accident on Montana 40. Two people suffered minor injuries, and at least one was taken to North Valley Hospital.

The Kalispell Fire Department and West Valley Fire Department responded to an accident neat the intersection of Tronstad Road and U.S. 93. One person was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
