Douglas Knudsen, 52, died May 4, 2008. He was born in Whitefish on Nov. 24, 1955, the son of Evelyn Elkins, and attended Whitefish High School.

He married Claudia Puccio in 2001 at Point of Rocks.

Doug's passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles led to an interest in rebuilding his 1959 Corvette. His hobbies included fast Harleys and fast cars. He loved his son more than his own life.

He also liked cooking and entertaining.

He owned the Shaker's Steak & Ale restaurant in Whitefish.

He lived life like it was the best day. Luckily, he spent the Saturday night before his death with his favorite fan, his son, Nicholas, at the raceway. His smile and great love of life will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kate and John Knudsen.

He is survived by his wife, Claudia Puccio; son, Nicholas Silverlin; mother, Evelyn Silverlin; sisters, Debe Garrison, Jodi Berens and Susan Jackson; and brothers, Ed Jr. and Steve Elkins.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at 550 E. Texas Ave. in Whitefish.

Memorials may be made to a college account for his son, Nicholas, at Park Side Federal Credit Union.
