Sandra Diane Hove, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the home of her daughter in Kalispell. She was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Choteau to John G. and Irma (Alspach) Hove.

Sandy's early years were spent in and near Ray, N.D. She came to the Flathead area first as a pre-teen, when her family spent summers at Rocky Point Lodge, and later as a high-school student at Polson, where she graduated in 1958.

Sandy attended college at Northern Colorado University, Greeley, and Minot State University, North Dakota. Her graduate studies were from Minot State, University of Montana-Bozeman and MSU-Billings.

A talented musician and educator, Sandy taught both music and elementary grades. For the past two decades, Sandy worked with developmentally challenged adults at Mission Mountain Enterprises in Ronan.

Sandy married Jim Jessen in 1964 and had two children, Kiza and Brooks. Love of family and friends was a primary focus for Sandy. Her patience, kindness and generosity benefit many.

Her other interests included music, art, reading, cards, gardening, cooking and bowling.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; and a dear nephew and brother-in-law, Jay and George Goggins. She is survived by her children, Kiza Jessen of Kalispell, and Brooks Jessen and wife, Sandy, of Missoula; her grandchildren, Terra Smith and her husband, Jordan, and their children, Ryan, Dylan and Kasandra Diane, all of Kalispell, Connor Hogan of Kalispell, and Logan and Pride Jessen of Missoula; siblings, John Hove of Milwaukee, Wis., Joan Thompson and husband, Virgil, of Ronan, Judy Harding and husband, Jay, of Helena, and Susan Hove-Pabst and husband, Jim, of Spearfish, S.D.; and her much-loved nieces and nephews.
