Roy Ellen Statum, 90

Mrs. Roy Ellen Statum, 90, 'went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ' on May 20, 2008. She was born Oct. 28, 1917, in Chelan, Wash.

She married Staff Sgt. Robert Statum of Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, on Sept. 11, 1954. They moved to Columbia Falls in 1975 after he retired from the Air Force.

She was very active in the First Baptist Church of Columbia Falls and enjoyed gardening and reading.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy; mother, Margaret; and husband, Robert.

She is survived by her son, Charles, of Columbia Falls; brother-in-law, Hal Anglin, of Sunnyside, Wash.; and sisters-in-law, Billie Schober, of Wenatchee, Wash., and Darlene Dotson, of Sumner, Wash. She also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins spread all over the country.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the First Baptist Church in Columbia Falls, with the Rev. Jerry Buchanan officiating. Burial will be afterward at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls.

Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
