Lee 'Jack' Mudgett, Jr., 88

Lee "Jack" Mudgett, Jr., 88, of Dewey, Ariz., passed away May 6, 2008, at the Prescott Samaritan Village. He was born Sept. 16, 1919, in Great Falls. He was the last member of his family of three sisters and one brother.

Lee Roy had no children but is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and five nephews and two nieces.

After graduation from Great Falls High School, Lee Roy attended college, where he studied liberal arts before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he worked as a cook, a commissary attendant and an office worker. He retired as a chief petty officer with an E-7 rank.

After the Navy, Lee Roy worked as a carpenter and did other jobs to help out people. He was a great outdoorsman and loved nature. Fishing, hunting, backpacking and camping were a few of his favorite things. He also loved playing golf and dancing.

He was a member of the Greater Arizona Country and Western Swing Music Association, the American Legion and the United Methodist Church. For 52 years, Lee was a member of the Bigfork Masonic Lodge No. 150.
