"found peace" on Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, after her three-year battle with multiple myeloma.

Memorial services were held Oct. 31 at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho, with graveside services at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery.

Marilyn was born in Burwell, Neb., on Sept. 12, 1946. She was the second of four children born to Dale and Kathryn Fahey. The family moved to Boise in 1961 when Marilyn was 14. She graduated from Boise High School in 1965. Marilyn spent the majority of her life in Boise raising two beautiful daughters, Tammy and Lorayne -- affectionately called Lori.

Marilyn met Oscar Swinney in 1985 and they married on Nov. 25, 1988. They were a wonderful complement to each other. Marilyn and Oscar shared the next 20 years doing all the things they love: square dancing, camping, tending their fish pond, cruising, and caring for each other, their kids, grandkids, nephews and niece.

Marilyn and Oscar were active in the Tangelfoot Square & Round Dance Club. Marilyn taught round dancing to young and old. She has an enviable collection of round dance records and had queued numerous dances.

Marilyn is survived by her loving and stalwart husband, Oscar; her sisters, DeEtta Boyce and her partner, D.J. Lopez, of Kalispell, and Lorayne Carlson and her husband, Frank, of Upland, Calif.; her brother, Dale Fahey and his wife, Val, of Melba, Idaho; her two daughters, Tammy Couch of Akron, Ohio, and Lori Spanton and her husband, Kris, of Spanaway, Wash. Marilyn also has five grandchildren, Emily and Isabel (Tammy's girls) and Kristin, Luke and Karissa (Lori's children).

She was a beloved aunt to four nephews and a niece, Jeff Fahey, Brad Fahey, Jim Boyce, Cameo Rhodes and Vince Boyce. Oscar's son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Annie, and their children, Austin and Hailey Swinney, accepted Marilyn as their grandmother.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.

We will miss you but you always remain in our hearts.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke's MSTI, 100 E. Idaho St., Boise, ID 83712.
