At least seven vehicles were broken into Wednesday night on Trumble Creek Road, and at least one resident had a garage rifled through. Various items were reported missing. Also, three vehicles were broken into on Shadow Lane. A pistol was taken from one of them. Flathead County sheriff's deputies are investigating.

A vehicle hit a tree on Nordic Loop in Whitefish. No one was injured, but the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Someone took apart the lock on a door to a Marion home and stole medication. The homeowner requested an extra patrol of the area.

A window on a coffee kiosk on U.S. 2 was smashed, but nothing appeared to be missing.

A Toyota pickup was reported stolen from a Park Avenue residence in Evergreen.

Deputies responded to Big Mountain Road after a resident complained that her house had been vandalized. Upon arrival, deputies broke up an argument between the homeowner and another person.

Deputies responded to East Evergreen Drive after a man complained his wife had punched him, and they settled the argument.

Reports of drug use at a Shady Lane motel and RV park were forwarded to the Northwest Montana Drug Task Force for investigation.

Deputies responded to One Way Road outside Columbia Falls after receiving reports that two people were fighting.

Passers-by reported what sounded like a gunshot near an apartment complex on Montana 35 in Evergreen. Deputies were unable to find anything amiss.

Deputies responded to disturbances on Mountain View Drive and Lakeside Avenue.

A reckless bicycle rider was reported on Montana 35.

Deputies responded to the intersection of U.S. 2 and Reserve Drive after receiving reports that one person was threatening another person. The parties involved were separated.

Wood was reported stolen from a residence on Westridge Drive in Somers.

Non-injury crashes were reported Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 93 and West Reserve Drive, Helena Flats Road and Montana 35, and Whitefish Stage Road and West Evergreen Drive. The last crash involved three vehicles.

Deputies received 133 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Kalispell police

A passer-by told Kalispell police that a tombstone in front of a Fifth Avenue East residence looked as if it had been removed from a graveyard. The residents told officers they found the tombstone in the yard, and they didn't know how it got there.

A Fifth Avenue East man called police because he was concerned about his safety when his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend arrived to pick up some belongings.

Officers arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting from a grocery store on U.S. 93 South.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old man on an Idaho warrant for probation violation at a store in a Center Street mall.

Officers were called to the emergency room at Kalispell Regional Medical Center to deal with a violent patient.

Staff at a bar on U.S. 93 South had trouble removing an intoxicated patron until officers arrived and had a friend take him home.

Officers arrested a man on suspicion of partner assault after he allegedly hit her in the face and smashed her into a wall at a Sixth Street West residence.

A man with a club on East Idaho Street caused alarm in the person delivering papers. Turns out the man was walking his cat.

Officers received 64 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 22-year-old Kalispell woman on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Baker Avenue.

Officers arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of traffic violations during a traffic stop on Baker Avenue.

Officers received 38

calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police responded to a grocery store on Nucleus Avenue after receiving reports that an adult was buying alcohol for minors.

Officers ticketed a driver who allegedly tried to squeal tires while leaving the high school parking lot.

Officers received 28 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alarms

The Evergreen Fire Department, South Kalispell Fire Department, Smith Valley Fire Department, and West Valley Fire Department were paged to a chimney fire Thursday morning at a Patrick Creek Road home. No one was injured, but the house sustained major damage.

The ALERT helicopter, Kalispell Fire Department, Somers Fire Department, and Lakeside Quick Response Unit responded to a residence on U.S. 93 after a man cut himself badly. He was taken to the hospital.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a hotel off U.S. 2 after a guest fell.

The Somers Fire Department was called to deal with what was reported as the controlled, but unattended, burning of slash piles.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to Liberty Street for an unresponsive 2-year-old. The child was taken to the hospital.
