Margaret E. Morgan, 106, "went to be with the Lord" on Nov. 6, 2008, just 10 days after her 106th birthday, at her daughter Phyllis' home, with whom she lived. Margaret was born Nov. 6, 1902, in Bethany, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Theresa (McGuffy) Tullis. As a small child, her family moved to Leon, Iowa, where she grew up.

She played on the high school basketball team and was their "jumping center." Their high school team played the Graceland College team regularly because there were no other teams to play in the area.

On June 2, 1930, Margaret married Boyd W. Morgan in Bethany. Boyd passed away in 1982.

Margaret was primarily a homemaker but briefly held a position in the millinery section of a department store. She was a member of the Glacier Baptist Church. Her photo shown here was taken on her 106th birthday.

Margaret loved reading the Wall Street Journal, shopping for clothing, visiting her grandchildren and attending their extracurricular activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Boyd; two brothers and two sisters; and grandson, Mark Fischer.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Fischer, of Kalispell; five grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, David and Thaine Fischer, and Theresa Paolini; 11 great-grandchildren, Nick Fischer, Jacki Elgin, Rebecca Fischer, Andrea Anderson, Brittney Salmi, Luke Fischer, and Morgan, Sarah, Joseph and Katherine Paolini, and Reagan Fischer; and two great-great-grandchildren, Andrea and Robert Elgin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Glacier Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Flathead Food Bank, 105 Sixth Ave. W., Kalispell, MT 59901.
