Daniel Bruce Grob, 57

We are sorry to announce the death of Daniel Bruce Grob, who passed away peacefully at his home in Kalispell on Nov. 13, 2008.

Danny was born Aug. 30, 1951, in Kalispell to Stanley G. and Betty Grob. He grew up and attended school in Eureka, later attending school in Olympia, Wash., where he graduated high school.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1979, and was honorably discharged.

Danny worked for and retired from Burlington Northern Railroad after 20-plus years.

His passion in life was his beloved horses, "his kids," as he called them. Danny was a talented horseman, training his special horse, Iron Forge Finesse, even riding her in a parade. He also loved hunting, fishing and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley G. and Betty Grob.

He is survived by his brother, David "Bill" Grob, and wife, Bonnie, of Kalispell; sister, Phyllis Leonard, and special friend and companion, John W. Gordon, of Kalispell; sister, Shirley Cares, and husband, Fred, of Rowlett, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Danny will be missed by many.

Cremation has taken place at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Flathead Valley Cowboy Church, 3171 Highway 93 N., in Kalispell.
