Three Lions devour Class B all-conference, state honors

"All-State" pretty much says it all.

After a stat-filled football season that ranks at the top of all classes, Eureka running backs Dalton Williams and Chad Price, and linebacker Ben Dechart earned state honors for Class B.

The Lions finished 8-2 and made it to the Class B semifinals before losing to Huntley Project, which went on to win the state championship over Fairfield on Nov. 22.

Williams, a senior who was also named all-conference at outside linebacker, finished the season with 1,461 rushing yards, the second most in all-classes across the state behind only Billings Central's Aleksei Grosulak, 1,571. In the Lions' three playoff games, Williams scored seven touchdowns, capping his season total at 21.

Price finished just a step behind his teammate, totaling 18 touchdowns and 1,356 rushing yards, the fourth most in the state. The junior made an impact on both sides of the ball for the Lions, playing defensive back and serving as the team's kick and punt returner.

Roaming the midfield, Dechart averaged over 18 tackles a game as a senior, tallying over 170 total. On the other side of the ball, he earned Al-Conference honors as an offensive guard.

Other All-State players include Aaron Palmer of Troy; Jordan Rohrich, Mission; Richard Lyons, Thompson Falls; and Carter Farrier, Plains.
