Dr. Otto G. Klein Jr., 70
Dr. Otto G. Klein, Jr., 70, of Polson died Nov. 27, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 2, 1938, to Otto G. Klein and Mary A. Klein in Helena.
Otto attended Helena High School, Stanford (undergraduate), Cornell Medical School and finished his ophthalmology residency at New York University.
He was employed as an ophthalmologist with the Mason Clinic in Seattle from 1971 until 1978. Dr. Klein was also a clinical professor at the University of Washington Medical School.
Dr. Klein moved to Missoula and began an ophthalmology practice with the Rocky Mountain Eye Center in 1978 and was there until his retirement in 2001.
Otto married Susan Vincent (Klein) on Jan. 5, 1980, in Missoula.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; son, Donald; daughter, Kelley Johnson and husband, Don; son, Otto III and his wife, Airion; and son, Kent. Also surviving are his brother, David, and wife, Marilyn; and his cousin, Peter, and wife, Cherri.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Polson, with the Rev. Paul Rowold officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting memorials be made to The Flathead Lakers or Camp-Mak-A-Dream.
