John A. ÔJack' Hinkle Sr., 79

John A. "Jack" Hinkle Sr., 79, of Mount Washington, Ky., formerly of Kalispell, passed away Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at his residence.

In addition to being an avid outdoorsman, Jack was a retired employee of General Electric with 37 years of service, an Army veteran, member of the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels, member of the NRA, former vice president of the Jefferson Co. Sportsman Club, former director of the Third District Federation League of Kentucky Sportsmen, former director of the League of Kentucky Sportsmen, member of the Louisville-Jefferson County Airboard, former member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fairfield.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Reynolds Hinkle; a son, John A. Hinkle Jr., and Peggy, of Montana; two daughters, Linda K. Shaw and Phillip, and Julie A. Caudill and Rogger; and four grandchildren, Austin and Lindsey Hinkle, and Bridget and Eric Spencer.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield, with burial afterward in St. Michael Cemetery.

The family is requesting that no flowers be sent. Instead, contributions should be made to the St. Michael Building Fund.
