Thomasine Collins, 68
Thomasine Collins, 68, formerly of Kalispell, died peacefully at her home in Green Grove Springs, Fla., on Sept. 28, 2008, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Thomasine moved to Kalispell in May 1992 to begin working for the Western Montana Community Mental Health Center as a mental-health professional.
Thomasine was known in the Flathead Valley for her great public-relations work and her professionalism in resolving mental-health crises.
When Managed Care entered in Montana, Thomasine moved back to Florida and went to work for Public Health Services as a lecturer in preventing sexually transmitted diseases. She retired from that position in August 2007.
Thomasine is survived by her son, Thomas Collins, and wife, Olga, of Seattle; daughter, Sally D'Marie, and husband, Adam Dalman, and three grandchildren, Emily, Michael and Tyler, all of Keystone Heights, Fla.; cousins; and numerous friends. She also leaves behind her two companion cats, Wylie and Maggie.
Thomasine's Kalispell friends are planning a memorial gathering, which will be announced at a later date.
