Harlan Eugene Lausen, 61

Harlan Eugene Lausen, 61, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at home in Oregon, with his loving family by his side. He was born to Merle and Stella Lausen in Water Town, S.D., on Jan. 28, 1947.

Harlan joined the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968, then moved to Washington and helped build the first cable bridge in the Tri-City area. He also worked at the Hanford Nuclear plant.

He married the love of his life, Amber, in Montana in 1979, had four children, and in 1985 relocated to the Rogue Valley in southwestern Oregon. He worked for Boise Cascade from 1986 until his retirement in 1997.

To him there was no stranger. He is greatly missed by all.

Harlan was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Gladys; and grandson, Ethan.

He is survived by his children, Charissa, Chrissandra, Natasha and Tyler; brothers, David and Leroy; sisters, Sharon, Diane and Beverly; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial will be held from noon to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 12, at Harlan's home, 967 Gibbon Road, Central Point, Ore. For more information, call 541-951-9811.
