Ronald L. Canada, 67, 'left this world' on Oct. 6, 2008, 'for a better place.' Ron was born Sept. 7, 1941, in Vinndes, Ind., the son of Harald and Pauline (Lawhead) Canada.

He graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business in 1969.

He worked for Lawyer's Title and Attorney's Title and also with the State of Florida until he moved to Montana in 1982 with Lorraine, his longtime friend and companion. After moving to Montana, Ron was the manager of Flathead County Title and in 1984 went to work for Citizens Title and Escrow until his retirement in 2007. Citizens Title was much more than Ron's work, it was his home for 24 years, and the staff was part of his family.

Ron loved good food, rafting, fishing, the Florida State Seminoles and hanging out with his dog and his friends. Those of us who cared so much about Ron will miss his generosity, his quick wit and his intelligence.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Harald and Pauline Canada.

He is survived by his longtime friend, Lorraine, of Florida; his rafting buddies; and his Citizens Title and Escrow family. He also leaves behind his dog, Chanticleer.

Ron's wishes were to have no services. But, please join us at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at First American Title (formerly Citizens Title and Escrow), 704 S. Main St., in Kalispell for a 'Remembering Ron Gathering.'

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Ron's family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to offer condolences and sign Ron's guest book.
