John Frank Morrison, 69,
passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at his home in Whitefish of natural causes.
John was born on July 7, 1939, in Kalispell to Frank John and Mildred Lucille (Hadley) Morrison in Kalispell.
He was raised and educated in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1957. He later graduated from Northrup Aviation School in southern California.
John worked in Helena for a flying service as a pilot and mechanic. He moved to Denver and owned and operated a Lear Jet flying service for about five years. John was employed by a Geo Service Company based in Germany and operated in Kenya where he lived for 4 years. Returning to Kalispell, he worked for Holman Aviation until his retirement. John enjoyed model airplanes and helicopters, and also enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father; Frank Morrison.
John is survived by his mother, Mildred Morrison; and daughters, Melinda Schielein, Michelle Hudzicki and Melissa James; sister, Charlotte Baker; grandchildren, Mike Miller, Amanda Miller, John Schielein, Mathew Hudzicki, Taylor Arceneaux, Trevor Arceneaux and Muriel Peterssen; niece, Carolyn Love; and nephew, Allan Horst.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 14, at the Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell, with the Rev. Huston Green of Epworth United Methodist Church officiating.
