Braves 5th in AA football poll

Flathead held on to its No. 5 ranking in the weekly Associated Press Class AA football power poll.

The Braves (5-3) are coming off a 38-28 victory over rival Glacier. Flathead has also won five straight heading into Friday's contest at Missoula Hellgate (0-8).

Helena Capital ripped Hellgate last Saturday, 61-20. The Braves conclude regular-season play Oct. 31 at top ranked Capital (8-0).

The Bruins are the lone unbeaten team in AA.

Billings Central (8-0), Huntley Project (7-0) and Centerville (7-0) are ranked No. 1 in A, B and C, respectively.

For the second-straight week, Eureka has moved up a notch in the Class B rankings.

The Lions (3-0 and 5-1) are seventh this week and have already captured the District 7B title. They host Darby on Friday in a nonleague matchup.

Polson (4-0 and 6-2) failed to crack the top five in Class A, but did receive votes. The Northwestern A champions play at rival Ronan (1-3 and 3-4) on Friday.

The Pirates are on a four-game winning streak.

The regular seasons for Class A and B ends this weekend. Playoff action begins Nov. 1 and 2.
