Richard 'Rick' Geary, 49

Richard "Rick" Geary, 49, passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He was born Dec. 12, 1958, in Santa Maria, Calif., to Kermit M. and Mamie Dorothy (Emos) Geary.

After graduation from Santa Maria Union High School in 1977, he enrolled in the police academy program at Hancock College. After graduation he was a police officer for the city of Grover Beach.

He later moved to Kalispell, where he continued his master woodworking craftsman trade, owning his own business.

Rick was a big part of his family and friends' lives and will be deeply missed.

Rick is survived by his wife, Carole Geary, of Kalispell; three daughters, Heidie and Ron Hensic and Holly and Gary Morris of Santa Maria, and Carrie and Geoff Angel of Bozeman; one son, Matthew, of Kalispell; three sisters, Mary and Gary Brakefield of Guadalupe, Calif., Linda and Ronnie Cornelius of Yucca Valley, Calif., and Patricia Geary-Holguin of Kalispell; two brothers, Jim and Joyce Geary of Atwater, Calif., and Roger and Mary Clark of Orosi, Calif.; three grandchildren, Ronny, Hannah and Cole; with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Mamie Geary; grandparents, Beatrice Geary and Mary Enos; and nephew, Stacy Cornelius.

Services will be held for Rick at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, with a potluck afterward at the Short Branch in Lakeside.
