Flathead students favor McCain
The Daily Inter Lake
Sen. John McCain is the new president of Flathead High School.
Or at least he would be, if votes really counted from the mock election conducted at the school Tuesday. Nearly half of the 845 students who voted supported McCain.
Republican candidates won most of the contests at Flathead High School. Sen. Max Baucus and Gov. Brian Schweitzer were the only Democrats supported by Flathead students.
The Flathead County Election Department loaned the school tabletop voting booths and "I voted" stickers. Students presented their school identification cards and voted on their own time for national and state candidates.
Voter turnout at the high school was 60 percent.
