Flathead County sheriff

A Columbia Falls-area man told Flathead County sheriff's deputies he believes his daughter is forcing his granddaughter to drink alcohol and generally not taking very good care of her.

A black bear was spotted on West View Drive.

Deputies responded to Dogwood Avenue, where someone stole a video-game system from a man's car.

Tires were slashed on a car parked at an office-supply store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen.

Deputies were dispatched to Stoner Creek Road after a resident called to report some vandalism, but they turned around before arriving because the complaint was canceled.

A 21-year-old man who threatened to harm himself was reported missing off Rhodes Draw. He was found unhurt.

Someone broke into a camper and storage unit at a campground off Helena Flats Road.

An employee of a Trumble Creek Road towing company was receiving threatening calls from a salesperson.

Someone parked a beat-up truck in a Mission Trail Road resident's driveway. Deputies contacted the owner, who agreed to move it.

Deputies responded to reports of an assault on Berne Road.

Deputies received 153 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Kalispell police

Proprietors of a Glenwood Drive business told Kalispell police the man living in a rusty ol' Jeep in their parking lot wouldn't leave because he had no money for gas. Officers spoke with the squatter, and he agreed to be gone in an hour.

A 14-year-old girl was struck by a car coming out of an alley off Third Avenue West, but she wasn't hurt.

Someone stole a backpack at Woodland Park.

A car was egged on Eighth Avenue West.

Officers visited a motel on U.S. 93 South and served a warrant for failure to appear and comply with court orders on a 29-year-old man.

Officers counseled some youths trying to set a fire in some weeds near the Empire Estates subdivision.

Teens, who allegedly were trying to steal bikes from the courtyard of a Liberty Street apartment complex, yelled obscenities when confronted by a resident.

A bear was spotted on Two Mile Drive.

Officers were unable to locate vehicles drag racing near Glacier High School.

Officers arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and a 19-year-old man on suspicion of possession of alcohol during a traffic stop on Second Avenue West.

A Second Street West man told police his girlfriend, who had been drinking, got in a car and left after they had an argument.

Someone stole a chain saw from a car parked at a Woodland Park Drive bar. Later, a man was arrested in connection with the theft.

Somebody going by the name "Andy" ordered a bunch of pizzas from an East Main Street restaurant and never came to pick them up.

Officers received 90 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police received 52 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbia Falls police responded to reports that a man was pounding on his ex-girlfriend's Fourth Avenue West door.

Officers received 23 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a Fifth Avenue West North business because an electric sign was sparking.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to U.S. 2, where trash in the back of a garbage truck ignited. The flames had blown out by the time authorities arrived.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a convenience store on U.S. 2 after employees smelled natural gas.

The Evergreen Fire Department and Kalispell Fire Department responded to East Oregon Street after a resident suffered a head injury in a fall. The patient was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
