Flathead County sheriff

A Mission Way South resident called Flathead County sheriff's deputies about a door-to-door salesman who just wouldn't take no for an answer. In his eagerness, the man - who was selling birch tree treatment - irritated some residents when he wouldn't leave.

Personal paperwork and a cell phone were stolen from a vehicle on Ridgewood Drive.

A hunched over, "creepy" man was spotted slowly walking near a bike path of Helena Flats Road. He was reported as suspicious because of his proximity to a school. The man was gone when deputies arrived.

Deputies responded to a home on U.S. 2 in Coram after a man not welcome there wouldn't quit banging on the door and trying to get in. All parties involved were counseled.

Deputies responded to a similar incident at an apartment complex on Grand Drive in Bigfork. This time, however, the resident's ex-wife was banging on the door and wouldn't leave. Again, all parties were counseled.

Kids spotted on the roof of an elementary school in Evergreen were gone when deputies arrived.

Deputies responded to a disturbance between some intoxicated people at a home on U.S. in Evergreen and arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of trespassing.

A Grand Avenue woman saw her motion-sensitive light go on and heard footsteps. When deputies arrived, they noticed the trash cans had been disturbed, leading them to suspect a bear.

People were seen poking around some recently repossessed vehicles at a dealership on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. Deputies slated the area for extra patrol.

When a customer went in to a convenience store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen, the clerk was nowhere to be found. The customer went to a different store in the same chain and had the clerk there call over to the first one. The clerk at the original store said he had been there all night.

Deputies responded to the Pleasant Valley area after receiving reports that a young child was walking down the road, but were unable to find him. No one has reported a child missing.

Deputies were informed of sexual harassment at Bigfork High School, but officials decided to speak with the parents before getting law enforcement involved.

Three dead goats turned up in the Smith Valley area. Animal wardens are investigating.

Deputies received 154 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police responded to Seventh Avenue East North, where a man camping out of his truck was spotted painting some rocks. The man told deputies he was doing a public service by covering over the bad words.

Officers arrested a 51-year-old woman on suspicion of DUI after she parked outside the Kalispell Fire Hall off U.S. 93 North with four flat tires.

Officers arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting after he tried to steal video game accessories from a box store on U.S. 93 North.

A Fourth Avenue West woman told officers her daughter, who was out of control, hit her with a plunger.

A Seventh Street East woman got a bad message with false information about her missing cat left on her answering machine.

A trailer with a cement mixer on the back detached and hit several cars parked on Fourth Avenue East.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of driving on a suspended license, without insurance, and on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop on East Idaho Street. He was also ticketed on suspicion of a tail light violation.

Officers arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and DUI after he was involved in a crash outside a bar on Woodland Park Drive.

The manager of a Liberty Street apartment complex took a girl's bike and refused to give it back.

A man told officers some guy was incessantly calling his 13-year-old daughter.

A truck side-swiped a utility pole at the intersection of Third Avenue East and Idaho Street, causing minor damage.

Officers responded to 13th Street East, where a woman's intoxicated boyfriend was yelling and wouldn't leave.

Officers received several calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old man on Kalispell warrants for contempt of court while investigating a suspicious-circumstances complaint on Central Avenue.

Officers arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of possession of alcohol while investigating a complaint on Central Avenue.

Officers received 55 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

A lawn mower reported lost in the Columbia Falls area was recovered. Columbia Falls police took the report.

Officers received 16 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

Three Rivers EMS responded to a pizza parlor in Columbia Falls after a person with a jaw injury from an attack that allegedly occurred the night before called for medical attention. The patient was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Bigfork Fire Department responded to Commerce Street after somebody reported smelling natural gas.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a Second Street East residence, where a fire had occurred the night before. The residents apparently slept right through the blaze, which extinguished itself. No one was injured.

The Somers Fire Department responded to Lower Valley Road after an older man fell off a ladder. He was not seriously injured.
