Wolfpack places 3rd in boys' golf

BUTTE - It was a tough round for the Glacier boys' golf team on the final day of the Butte Invitational on Friday at the Butte Country Club.
The Glacier boys, leading the field Thursday at the Old Works Golf Course, slipped back into third place in the final standings.
Billings West took top honors with a 599 total. Billings Senior was second, 607, with Glacier next at 617.
Flathead placed 11th.
Individually, Glacier's Larry Iverson tied for fifth with a 149 total. It was Iverson's poorest showing of the season. Iverson started strong, posting the second-best round on Thursday with a 74.
Jake Hedge of West was a wire-to-wire medalist winner with a 143.
Aaron Young shot a 148 to lead the Wolfpack. That put him in fourth place.
Jon Hineman, 156, finished 15th to pace Flathead.
In girls' play, Glacier's Karli Aurich improved by nine shots, shooting an 80 on the final day. That placed her sixth with a 169.
Ashleigh Ogolin of Butte was the medalist with a 154. Erin King of West was one shot back.
Glacier was sixth in the team standings, 748. C.M. Russell won it, shooting 660.
Flathead did not have a full team in the final day.
