Bigfork men die in crash

Two Bigfork-area men died early Saturday evening when their vehicle rolled over on Montana 209 near Ferndale.

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office identified the men as Matthew Emslie, 27, and Sean Purcell, 26.

The vehicle was traveling west on Montana 209 shortly after 6 p.m. when it veered across traffic into a ditch, where it rolled, according to the Sheriff's Office. No other vehicles were involved.

The passenger, Purcell, remained within in the vehicle during the rollover, and died at the scene.

The driver, Emslie, was ejected and taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he was dead on arrival.

The Alert helicopter, the Bigfork and Ferndale fire departments, and Bigfork ambulance responded to the accident.
